Scena 30 del ciclo sulla vita di san benedetto raffigura benedetto che predice la distruzione di montecassino . In alcune delle sue scene ( e . g . in scena 30 ) Sodoma illustra le fasi successive di un singolo evento . Che questa tecnica possa essere usata per rappresentare moment-by-moment gli sviluppi all'interno di un episodio particolare sono vividamente illustrati da scene 6 , che comprende anche una vera finestra nella composizione dell'immagine . In questa scena lo spettatore è molto più affascinato dalla massiccia groppa di un cavallo che incombe in primo piano o dai due uomini che si trascinano a destra piuttosto che dall'argomento reale , che viene presentato solo in una minuscola scena secondaria sullo sfondo .
